Studio Céramique

CRAFTS: CERAMIC STUDIO, THE MARRAKCHI SME WHICH INVITES ITSELF TO THE TABLES OF THE CHEFS

For many years, Marrakech has been considered the cradle of Moroccan craftsmanship. In order to preserve this ancestral know-how, where the production techniques of yesteryear are preserved, Brek Gharbag and Chakib El Boustani joined forces and founded Studio Céramique.

Their manufacturing unit, based on the Ourika road, focuses on high-temperature porcelain stoneware; a material finely worked by hand which, in a short time, has seduced the tables of the greatest chefs in the city - and not only!

Over time, the SME has also integrated into its workshops certain innovations that have never before been seen in the field of craftsmanship, such as 3D ceramic tiling, for example.

The very reflection of a desire to make local know-how shine on the international scene, Studio Céramique today employs 20 craftsmen and has made a name for itself at international fairs, where the design of their products and the quality of these continue to impress.

Hassna BOUZMITE

Chef

HASSNA BOUZMITE: WHEN TALENT SUBLIMES THE CUISINE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOTELS

At only 34 years old, Hassna Bouzmite is at the helm of the kitchen at Dar El Sadaka , a guesthouse built in Marrakech by the artist Jean-François Fourtou.

However, nothing foreshadowed such a journey for the young woman. As a child, Hassna dreamed of being a seamstress; far from the stoves behind which she magnifies Moroccan gastronomy every day.

After studying at a craft school in Marrakech, the young woman was first recruited into the service of the guest house. Quickly, she finds herself propelled to the helm of the kitchen, following the resignation of her superior and in the urgency of finding a replacement.

And the magic will happen very quickly; Hasnaa shares the know-how instilled in her by her family and her creations quickly conquer her direction. It is then obvious; she will be the new Chef.

Later, she will explain that she was able to learn French through the cookbooks that had been entrusted to her. A strong apprenticeship, which she now wishes to share with her collaborators in the same way as her love for cooking.
